Cities Skylines One Tile Challenge

Maps are the areas where you build your city. Each map is divided into tiles that you tin unlock as the game progresses. The full map consist of 81 tiles (9x9), only tile borders are only shown for the 25 middle tiles (5x5). Out of these, 9 tiles are unlockable in the base game; there are some mods that can increase the amount of playable tiles to 25 or 81. A map has different Natural resources placed on it.

Calibration [edit | edit source]

Zone-able roads spawn grids of "cells" that are upwardly to iv cells deep. Each "cell" unit correlates to 8 meters past viii meters of existent world infinite. The area of one prison cell is 64 m².

One tile is 240 x 240 cells, or 1920 x 1920 meters, or ane.92 10 1.92 km. The expanse of one tile is 3.6864 km².

The map itself is 9 x 9 tiles, or 2160 x 2160 cells, or 17280 10 17280 meters, or 17.28 x 17.28 km. The expanse of the map is 298.5984 km².

The possible playable expanse is 5 x v tiles, or 1200 10 1200 cells, or 9600 x 9600 meters, or 9.half dozen x 9.vi km. The possible play surface area of the map is 92.16 km².

Challenge all 9 tiles in a 3 x 3 area, or 720 10 720 cells, or 5760 x 5760 meters, or v.76 x 5.76 km. The claimable area of the map is 33.1776 km².

Map creation and sharing [edit | edit source]

Cities: Skylines offers an in-game map editor and fully integrated sharing through steam workshop. Y'all may also take a heightmap and use it in the map editor. The modification customs often uses real earth heightmaps which can exist found online ^[1].

Creating a Map [edit | edit source]

Main article: Map Editor

To create a map the actor clicks the tools button in the main menu then you click the map editor. The role player tin then choose a mural type and click create to open the map editor. The player tin and then brainstorm terraforming, place water sources, highways and train track, lay ship- and plane routes and adjust the ocean.
